Default I have cam questions

Alright, im looking to drop a cam in my car. Its an 01 Z28. Right now it just has a borla catback and slp lid, but by the time im ready to put in the cam, it will also have lt headers and an ory pipe. My car is a dd in the spring, summer, and fall, so im looking for something that is very streetable, but will provide the best power boost i can get with out going too extreme. Honestly, i know extremely little about cams. Right now im looking at the packages at Thunder racing and texas speed, because i like their prices and they include everything for the job. Which one would u recommend that they offer? And i would like to install the cam myself, but if i do take it to a shop, what is the usual installation fee? And should i do a stall or gears before i do the cam? Because right now my car has the stock 2.73s. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You should do a stall first. Big cam and stock converters dont work well together. After you get the converter I would look at some thing like the TSP 228r or something thunder has in the 228 range. Just get either cam on a 114 lsa to keep the streetabilty good. The 112 lsa is fine for the street it's just more choppy/rough.
