do I need longer push rods with 59cc milled heads?
Guys I am getting ready to order 59cc milled PRC 5.3 heads and I currently have aftermarket stock length hardened push rods. Will they work with 59cc milled heads or will I need to get diff length PR? Thx

If anything it would require a slightly shorter pushrod after milling the heads, not longer. Quite a few people run a 7.45 pushrod with their aftermarket cam due to the reduced base circle. So you should be fine with the 7.4's.

You will need shorter pushrods the more you mill off the head.
Measure the base circle of your cam, and check preload. You will be able to find out near exactly what pushrod length you'll need.

Whatever happened to measuring the pushrod length the engine wants? Engines are lousy at math, but they surely know what works and what doesn't. Checking pushrods are cheap and can be used over and over again. If your engine builder or parts installer doesn't have checking pushrods, choose another shop.
