Default Head recommendation for my C5Z

I just had a cam installed in my C5Z (LS6) and am looking at getting heads as my next mod. The cam is a custom Pat G grind 227/231 .614/.617 112+2. I made 420rwhp and 392rwtq and want more First of all, I've got a budget of about 13-1800 and because of it, I was looking at either Patriot heads or the PRC. However, Im not sure where to start looking...I don't know which combustion chamber, intake/exhaust valves to go with?!?! I don't want to bump up compression so high that I can't run 93 octane and I don't want my P/V clearance to be very tight because I drag race the car a lot. Any suggestions? My cam VE are below, according to Mr. G, my compression is at (SCR/SCR) 10.50:1, 8.13:1, and Im using 7.425 prods:

0.006 0.050 0.200
277 227 151
281 231 154
112 112 112
110 110 110

IVO-28.5...3.5...34.5
IVC-68.5...43.5...5.5
EVO-74.5...49.5...11
EVC-26.5...1.5....-37
ECL-114....114.....114
OL-55...... 5......-71.5

Thanks

You could always get your stock 243s ported, if done right they should flow pretty well. Then with the money you saved from using your stock heads you could get the FAST 92 intake manifold and port that as well. You may be leaving a little bit of HP on the table with the heads but you will make up for it and then some with the FAST.

Alot of big name shops do port work. Your location isn't listed so I don't know whats around you. There is a sticky on head porters which can be found here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...s-country.html

I know you said you have $1,800 to spend on heads, is this including the $500 you'll get from selling your stock 243s? They usually go for a minimum of $500 and some go even higher. If you factor that in and you now have $2,300 and could get some nice ported AFR 205s of TFSs and have the best heads out there for a 346 ls1.

TFS as cast 215's from Vengeance Racing. Right in your price range ($1679 from Vengeance Racing) and a great performing head.

Here's a good indicator of what to expect: https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...ts-inside.html

Sell your stock 243's and your in some nice horsepower for a very, very good price.
