would the patriot dual gold spring 650'' be a good choice and not to much pressure on the tr224 cam. still not sure what to use. 563 lift on thetr224. kind of like the earlier question. ive got manley 7.4s to.

I had the same cam and used 918s. Go with 918s and titanium retainers, will make for a lightweight, high reving valvetrain.

I ran Patriot Golds for almost 25K miles on my TR224 with no problems and the car ran awesome and made good power. Checking pressure showed only a few psi drop after 25K miles. Previous springs were bluestripe 918s that were down 20-25psi after only 10K miles.

I say use a good dual spring.

I'm using patriot gold dual springs with my TR224, my Patriot 5.3 heads that I got also have them. You just need to take the time to get the right pushrods + installing the rockers correctly to keep the springs quiet. After break in, my springs sound almost like stock.

I use pac 1218 springs with a tr224 type cam.The duals are a lot more safe if you break a spring and last a hell of a lot longer. The only drawback with singles is if you break one you can kiss your piston goodby.Their worth the extra piece of mind.

I ran Thunder .080" chromemoly 7.4" PR's which were on average 7.405" on the dial calipers. You will be fine.

I called Thunder Racing about the springs when we did the swap. They said the 918s would work fine.
