HOTCM and timing chain
i'm gonna put in a hotcam my 04 gto. the car has 40K can i use my stock timing chain?
i just dont wanna risk pinching hte "O ring on pickup tube, and oil pan leaks due to removal and reinstall of the oil pump

If your going in there and you already have 40k miles on it, it only makes SENSE to change it and you should see how the sprockets look ( the points should be sharp, if they are dull and really rounded then change it. They are only like 40 bux and 95 with the sprockets!
When I put my HotCam I changes the Pushrods to chromoly, the oil pump to a melling, the chain to an Ls2.
But thats just my .02 though.

You could reuse the timing chain, just make sure the chain isn't loose.Like vettenuts said it may already have an LS2 timing chain. If it doesn't have the LS2 chain you might as well upgrade it since it is cheap.
