Default Suggestions for rev limit of a 422?

I'm installing a 422 in my truck as we speak. I'd like to have an idea of what kind of revs to expect out of this engine or better yet, try to have an idea of where my power band will roughly come off. This is what it consists of:
6.0 block bored .030"
Stage III 6.0 heads milled .030" 2.08int & 1.60ex valves
Lunati 4.125" Crank, Lunati 2.100" dished(-12cc) pistons
Lunati 6.125" rods
Comp 244/244 612/612 112LS
Yella Terra 1.7 rockers
Comp push rods & "R" lifters
42# Bosch injectors w/ 255l/hr intank
Ported throttle body
Dynatech LT headers
Custom 4" intake system

When I was running an S1 cam (same specs as what you stated) in a 422, I shifted anywhere between 6500-6850. The engine didn't really seem to care. The ETs were about the same. This was with MTI Stage III LS6 heads and 1 7/8 mid length headers.

I'd suggest setting the shifts at 6500-6600 and the rev limit at 6800. Use good valvesprings, of course.

I set mine at 6900 but I was just guessing. Set my shiftlite at 6400...that gives me 500 rpms to react hehehe.

The reason I ask is also because I've heard several different answers. Being that I'm using such a long stroke(4.125"), I've been told that I won't rev over 5500 RPM's but then I heard of someone reving to 7K. The thing with that is he acknowledged his power curve dropped at 6300 RPM's. Just looking for a straight answer, thanks for the replies.

I have the 4.125 crank and revving to 7000RPM. Power peaks around 6400 but carries within 20 of peak all the way to 7000.

I don't care if it does have a 4.125" crank...it'll turn alot higher than 5500. I still say it'll work just fine with a 6500-6600 shift point.

Someday, I'd like someone like Dave Vizard to really tackle the oversquare vs. undersquare debate.

My opinion is that everyone makes far too much noise about the effect of minor shifts from really oversquare to slightly oversquare to square.

I honestly have yet to see a truly significant difference on a dyno between a 382 stroker and an all-bore 382 WITH PROPER CAMSHAFT SPEC ADJUSTMENTS FOR EACH.

With that much stroke and a 112 LSA, your setup is gonna peak at 5900 rpms IMO.

I would run a 114 LSA and expect to peak about 6150, and I would not buzz the motor higher than 6600. Sure you might only lose like 10-20rwhp from 6160 to 6600 but you plan to spray that truck too I gather so I would shift it at 6200 on spray.

My old 422ci was 4.060 bore x 4.075 stroke, and with LS1 stage III heads + 242/242//114 cam it peaked at 6200. With stage III LS6 heads + S1 cam it peaked at 5950 and only slight dropped off up to 6600 but from 6700-7200 it dropped off 50rwhp and more.
