Re: tr224 owners
I dont have a dyno yet, but i pull consistent 8.0 @ 90 mph in the 1/8th with my mods. I have a stock ls1 intake, stock tune and stock throttle body. I have not done the free mods as well. Local Z06 guys are running 8.2's so im happy.

Re: tr224 owners
I love mine! Lotsa lowend power over my old LS6 cam and she pulls hard all the way to 6500 rpms. No tuning yet and no driveability issues. Gonna have it tuned on Monday and I will post numbers then.

Re: tr224 owners
Lots of people seem to be happy with the cam, but I wasn't. I lost power and torque all the way to 3500RPMs, and didn't gain until after 4400. After 2 weeks, I switched it out for a 228/228 cam and am much happier with the performance.

Re: tr224 owners
I love my TR224 114 LSA. No dyno reading yet, but I should have one after this weekend. I just ran 160.96 mph at the Bonneville Salt flats after several people said I wouldn't come close to that. Engine was spinning at 6000-6200 rpm for a solid three miles with power to spare. It pulls hard right up to the rev limit at 6750 rpm, and this is without headers and passing a recent emissions test! Although you can make more power with a still bigger cam, this is the perfect street cam IMO.

Re: tr224 owners
I loved the TR224 cam (TR230 now)! I had exellent bottom end toque, but I guess it depends on what you compare it to. I had a 112 LSA on an A4 and no drivabilty problems. I pulled 390/390 on the dyno and busted out an 11.9@114MPH on the 1/4 and a 7.7@92MPH in the 1/8th. It's a great cam for a street car..

Re: tr224 owners
i dynoed mine with TEA 1.5 heads and saw 399 in a A4 so its a sweet cam. Granted I have the Comp 224/224 .563 114 cam
my friend larry01z28 dynoed the 224/224 .581 112 in his M6 with TEA stage 1.5 heads and saw 435hp
most M6's with that cam and stock heads would see 378-400hp(usually 385-392)
most A4's would see 355-373(usually 365)
its a great track and dyno proven cam that works well with any heads!
i went 11.50 @ 117 cam only
hoping for 11.0-2's with my heads now when i get use to the car again

Re: tr224 owners
My 224 with pp 5.3's is rockin' I am about to get a tsp tune. Hopefully that will make it perform even better. My cam wants to pull way past 6000 rpms. I have the hunger for something bigger like a tsp 231/237.

Re: tr224 owners
IMO you will like a 224 or not depending upon if you can find someone who knows how to tune it so you have good driveability. That's the key and of course, with a good tune, you get more power.
There are some that can tune and some that can't. You will get tired real fast of surging, poor idle, idling at 11-1200 rpm, gas fumes with a poor idle, TC clunking at 42 mph, with a poor tune (A4).

Re: tr224 owners
i have a 224 112 lsa and i have to say even though no tuning, the cam surges really bad..i'm always setting SES codes for god knows what, and yes as stated earlier by someone else under 2500rpms' its useless..it'll pull some but at about 2500- 3000 you 'll feel it come on strong then...

Re: tr224 owners
I don't know I expected more
Before TR224-114 I ran 12.42's at 109-110
After Cam, ASP, Shaner TB, I only ran 12.11's 110-111
Now with PP 5.3L S2's & Yella Terra 1.7's I ran 12.05 @ 112
It's part do to the tunning O2's 960-980's, but I hoped to be 115-116 mph and in the high 11's

Re: tr224 owners
I couldnt afford heads and i wanted a lot of power with a single spring that i could drive everyday. I set codes only if i let it idle for more then a minute. Then they go away. It doesnt feel as if i gained much power below 2500 or so as stated above, but my 1/8th times as also in my last post are proof i have a strong car for my mods. Im happy with it because it fits what i need. If i had some other form of transportation i would have gone larger. But if my car is down, im in trouble so reliability is important. Plus you CAN drive it with a stick without a tune. Even though i am going to get it tuned this month.

I love the TR224 cam. I have a .561 114 LSA and Stage II GTP heads. You can see the numbers in my sig. It was considered a big cam back when I bought it. It has a nice lope but is super streetable. This is the smallest cam I would upgrade to. But nowadays you can get much bigger cam to be streetable.

TR224-114. I love it. With GTP Stage 2's it moved my 3700# sled down the 1/4 in 11.90@115.8, untuned on Nitto DR's. It was also about 85* with high humidity. It pulls decent in all ranges, street or strip. Idles very nice too in my A4.

i hate that clunky crao around town(30-50mph light throttle or coasting)
I can put up with it, but its no where near as streetable as she was before the cam lol.. but still its 10times more streetable then older cars running the same ET's
