Default 08 6.0L in F-Body

Hey guys i acquired a 08 iron 6.0L w/L92's from work for free The engine had only 3k on it when it was hydrolocked. It broke a rod and the heads went untouched. I put in a 6.0L rod and piston out of another 6.0 that i have. The block had a hole in the side, so my pops drilled the hole out and installed a 1" plug in its place. We decided to fix it because it would be a shame to throw out the block because of a hole. All of the parts are mint too. So my question is since this is out of a 08 silverado 2500 is the crank seal pad the same as the car crank? It appears to be the same. Just looking for some input.

Almost 100% sure front crank seals are the same. I'd still get an opinion from a resident engine builder or something on here though just to be sure.

How the heck did it not screw the bore too? Obviously it was shut down immediately at low rpm when it happened?

Any details on how it happened?

It chipped the cylinder bore at the bottom where the piston doesn't touch. It was a few months ago when we had a lot of flooding, it was a company truck not sure what they did.
