Love this thread. I was going to throw a T-rex in my 383 combo. Mostly a drag only setup.
I had a sponsor on here spec a cam out and they came up with. 247/251 .623/.623 113+3
I plan on spraying 150-200 shot. How does this cam sound?

how much compression?
The one I posted seems really small to me. people are suprised when I tell them that it has a 246 248 in it now cause it doesn't idle bad at all

Comprssion is hair over 10.5:1 The guy who specd the cam said it would be great N/A and really good on the spray. I was thinking something bigger also since it is 95% drag only but what do I know?

What kind of lifters are you guys running? Also do you think a carb'd intake would be a bad idea with only 383 cubes?

I was suggested to use a 242 248 .621 .615 111 +2 or +4 about a year ago but never got around to switching. anything new out I should try?
How about a 234/242 on a 113+4,109ICL? Would make killer low end and mid-range, much more so over both of those cams and still only fall short MAYBE 5-10hp @ peak.

Good luck man

Just for reference, I ran a 239/248 .649 .615 110+2 in my 384. Great cam and had some killer mid-range and top end but it still was a little much IMO and definitely fell short from what I truly was after (more street than strip). Definitely look for something that is going to give you more low-midrange over a top end biased cam.

The changes your considering in your first post won't make much of a change imho. Ideally you could use some additional compression. That being said give us a idea of what rpm your looking to gain power in so we have a good idea of your goals.
