You can start by asking the top 3 fastest heads/cam f-bodies in the Drag Racing Results forum, all have the same shortblock setup. Good luck getting anywhere near those times with an N/A 346ci stock shortblock though.

I seriously doubt they can't outrun those times Joseph. That sweet 218 heads / cam come they once did could easily run 8.20s. I even bet Willie's uncle Rico could throw a football over those mountains.
LOL
In all seriousness the TSP car has the ET record for a stock bottom end LS1 car. There is a thread in racing section with ls1tech's na records.y

TECH Fanatic
Here is a link to the rules. It seems simple to me. F-body car, stock bottom end LS1. The TSP car used stock pistons, rings, bearings ect....the only change was the upgraded rod bolts.

As long as it's naturally aspirated and an original Gen III/IV based vehicle, it's game. Otherwise you'd see idiots trying to get on the list with rail dragsters and 2200lb "real" race cars.

Who makes the rules for this class, I'd like to make sure of the chassis you can use. If the Opal fits I may take a stab at this record.

I have a couple friends, one has a rail car that he's not running anymore... if that would count for an lsx record, I would have pulled my motor and put a fogger on it and hit the thing with 2 kits and busted a 7 second pass off already. The rail wtih an iron block BBC in it and him @ 275 lbs was about 2200 lbs, so with an alum ls motor the thing would be at about the 2000 lb range. Considering with a n/a 540 bbs the thing runs 7.9 and that motor only makes about 1000 hp, I am sure that 2 kits on my junk would do it.
But, noone would give a hoot about it, kind of like w2w's 6.8 pass, yeah it is the fastest anyone has gone, but noone really credit's it because it was in a tube chassis car with twin turbo's and nitrous, the 2 power adders make alot of people discredit it.
Wanna go for a record, do it in an f body or a vette.

Just cost so much to get the weight out of a Fbody. I guess that's the thing though, keeps the average Joe's from being able to compete. Looks like a FRC vette or ZO6 would be the best way to start wheight wise.
