Default Need Help about a 4.8 and 6.0 truck

Will a 2008 2500HD 360 hp 6.0 fit in a 2001 4.8 auto 1500? If so what will I need to change out or replace?

It would be best if you got a 6.0 from a 2001-2006 model. The '08 has a different crank reluctor wheel, cam position sensor, and revised knock sensor location. The blocks are externally the same, so it would be a direct swap for the 4.8 otherwise. You also have the option to purchase an adapter module from LPE that will allow your 2001 PCM to control the 2008 engine, but I'd rather use the 01-06 engines myself.

I agree. The less headache the better.
