MS4 guys come on in, have a few questions about my car

750!?! your going to be stalling like crazy man, i just dont see how that cam could survive on that idle.. you will be able to drive it, but its going to be a pain in the ***!!!!
as for the converter.. why did you not put one in? it would only help...
and as far as the cam, you could have went with a much smaller cam, with close to the same sound but MUCH MUCH less hassle with driving it..
have you drove the car with the stock converter on that low idle with ms4?

The car right now idles at 675 with out stalling in P/N and when it goes into gear the idle is about 725-750 with the stall saver on. The car drives fine with my crapy tune.
I just wanted to do an MS4 cam with the factory converter because everyone said it could not be done. If i run into that problem i will throw a converter in it.
Yes i did it for sound but the extra 76rwhp was impressive and thats on my crapy tune.

i need to invest in some of those soundproof covers..
my FAST didnt change the volume of the noise as much as i thought it was going to.. but it def. got louder.. but so did the "SHHHHHHHHHHEWWW" noise of the air getting sucked in..

X's 2 on the air getting sucked in...mine will drown **** out when I have my hood up.
My car makes the ticking noise like everyone else's. I have just gotten used to it.
As far as idle, mine idles around 800-900..1200 is way to high.

While I agree doing the cam for sound only thing is kinda out there, I did drive my car all last summer with the stock converter, while I was stock piling parts for my TH400 swap. Now I have my new trans in, but in answer to your question, I didn't have any problems with the stock stall and MS4.

oh god u just mentioned ticking...get ready for a flood of "dude there should be no ticking" posts even though my 2002 ms4 z06 ticks and has only about 800 unbelievably easy miles on a fresh set of heads

I have the MS4 with PRC Stage 1 ls6 heads and stock thickness head gaskets. I have the .660 lift valve springs and stock rockers. My valvetrain is loud as hell. I have 7.4 pushrods. Was told alotta the noise was from the fast ramp rate as well as having stock rockers. I love my setup tho just wish i went bigger now

as for the stock stall and stuff.. i could possibly see the stock stall being used, but i thought you were also on a stock tune... even at 650-700rpms i dont see it idling **ideally** under normal driving conditions.. hell i have a dynotune by a very good tuner and about once a week my car will surge a little under hard deceleration..

my car gets idle surge but very infrequently im not sure whats causing it...i still manage 15 mpg city and 24 highway with my setup...only thing is the cam pulls really weak down low but really strong up top

in your honest opinion would you suggest lowering mine to about 875... im at 950-1k right now.. never over..
just seeing what you think, if so i will lower it because, well.........
i just dont want it to be stalling/surging or anything.. i would rather take a little higher idle and have it nice to DD..
PS. i drive my car 50ish miles a day..
