Default New motor break-in. Did I hurt it??

Just put a new forged short block in and fired her up for the first time this weekend. I had trouble getting it to run for a while.
I have a new PCM as well. Anyway I had or have the 1336 code but nothing else but couldn't find why it wouldn't run right.
Feel pretty stupid but it ran for about 10 or 12 minutes till it got up to temp with me varying the rpms. Right before I shut it off I finally got several codes come up on my logger that led me to find the coil pak connector came loose on the left bank.
Anyway letting it cool down and changed the oil and going to continue the break in procedure just wondering if I've hurt the engine by running it for that length of time on just the right bank.
Sorry for the long post. Just looking for a little piece of mind I guess.

Run like crap on just 2, 4 6 and 8. Even idled after a few minutes. I have a supercharger on it as well and the coil pak plug for the left bank sits up under the TB and was just not snapped in tight. Another thing that was strange is That is the side my wide body is on. I thought it wasn't working right because it always read pegged out at like 22.4. I would have thought it would have showed super rich on that side cause not burning fuel?? After I found the problem it came back to around 14 for idle so it 's working like it should now.

After a constant misfire I know some GM's shut off fuel supply to stop from damaging anything. Dont know if ours does it but that could be the reason for running lean instead of rich.

Any O2 sensor, whether it's a wide band or narrow band, only reads oxygen content. If a cylinder isn't firing, then the O2 isn't being burnt and will show up lean - the amount of fuel pouring down the pipe won't affect that.

As to whether or not you hurt it is yet to be determined - a lot of fuel may have washed past the rings and diluted the oil and also allowed some scoring of those cylinder walls. Of course, this all depends on how long you ran it like that. Change the oil, run it a while to break it in and then run a leakdown to see if any cylinders got hurt.

Yeah they can. After a cam swap on my GTO a friend forgot to plug in one coil pack and I was like, "Damn, this is more lopey than I'd thought it would be."

Default Check Your Plugs

I don't think that you would really hurt your engine but it is probably a good idea to pull your spark plugs on that side and check that the cylinders didn't get washed down with fuel and that the plugs didn't get fouled.

If you leave the coil packs unplugged, it does kill the fuel on that bank. I have verified this with a wideband and not intentionally. Judging by this thread, it is a common overlooked item. I've also forgot to plug the map back in after an intake swap. A quick log reminded me of my oversight.

its not gonna hurt the engine at all. might have fouled the plugs, but thats about it.

How does a wideband verify that ????
