Default Pcv?

Would this be the ideal way to run the PCV lines for an LS1 style system?
You think that 1 PCV valve at the catch can will be enough?

This thread has a bunch of good catch can/PCV system information:

Don't mean to hijack thread but I have an LS6 (2003 Vette) and I bought Katech valve covers - there are no vents...just an oil fill hole on passenger side. How would you pipe that with a catch can?

You need to add a port for the clean air side of the PCV system, similar to the port at the front of the stock passenger valve cover. You can use a normal hose barb or dry sump fitting if you want an AN connection point. Then head over to the thread above for the diagram that matches your configuration.

What is the reason for blocking of the passenger side dirty port? The drivers side is enough?

405HP ZO6, I have decided to copy your setup. i went to the www.saikoumichi.com website to order the dual can like yourself and just got way to confused on which to order. Would you mind letting me know what style and stage you bought so I can do the same?

Thanks

I'm still confused on the dual catch can setup. I know in the other thread that the clean side catch can is for the reversion affect road race cars see sometimes. It will catch oil vapors going the wrong way before it makes it back to the TB, but does this really happen on a street or every now and then 1/4 mile car to make it worth the extra cost and hoses? I'm sure the vendors would love for all of us to spend double the money on catch cans, but is it really necessary? Plus, I guess you have to be careful which catch can you use in that configuration. For example the RevXtreme can wouldn't work to well on the clean side considering it has a built in pcv valve and not meant to be bi-directional. Am I wrong here or missing something?

Because the clean side hose is in the front of this cover. The clean air will 'short circuit' directly to the dirty side and not force all of the blow by out of the engine. By blocking off this port you force the clean air through the engine, from one side to the other, and out the dirty side. You want the dirty side to pull out the dirty air, not the clean air.

Your spot on. The dual cans are really only required for forced induction and high RPM racing applications.

Mine was the first LSx DC3. It has 3/8 NPT x 3/8 hose barbs. You need as much flow as you can get, so I would recommend the Stage 2 Saikou Michi can.
