Question A good cam choice for new heads?

I just got my heads back and I wanted to double check cam recommendations. I'm running 5.7 ls1 241 heads with the patriot dual gold springs, 2.02 and 1.57 valves, valve drop is .105 and .135, and they are milled .030. These flow extremely well! I am thinking about running the 90/90 and have nearly all the bolt-ons. I have 42lb. injectors but I will be downsizing if needed and a tci 3500 which I will might trade out as well. I might run a dry 150 or less shot. I currently have a comp 222/222 so I want to go bigger but remain streetable. Looking for usable power not just peak #'s! I want something that will fit with my setup!

With the heads milled you will have trouble going with a much bigger cam due to P/V Clearance. Make sure you check it when you install a bigger cam.

i would say the biggest you could safely go would be around 226-228 on the intake ans around 230 on the exhaust.You will have to flycut to go much bigger.

Since you have all the specs on your heads, get a cam spec'd by Patrick G. PM him and he'll get you started. That is your best bet, as he'll be able to get you a cam matched to your combo and perform how you want it to.

^ they would be another good choice as well. Jason has spec'd some nitrous cams for some buddies of mine and they're beasts!

These all seem like good choices. Do you all think the 228R would fit without flycutting? Or is custom the way to go?

With that much milling I would assume the 228 would be close, you'd definitely have to clay it to check PTV. TSP may have more input though, I'd call them and ask that particular question.
