Would you rather have torque or horsepower?

Going to post a new thread after I drive the car. I'll talk about my impressions of having the same h/c but more cubes and the impact gobs of extra torque under the curve has on street driving.

Well my engine build wasn't cheap, but it wasn't out of this world. LG Motorsports did a great job and delivered on there promise of power under the curve and peak numbers worth bragging about, and perfect drivability. The goal was 500/500 with expectations that she'd make 505 rwhp and 495 rwtq. I was shocked at the final numbers 517.3 rwhp and 513.8 rwtq. Louis and the team at LGM built me a winner. The only thing left that could be done is swapping out the lg pros and trying the 1 7/8 super pros. Not sure what it would do for my 402 but since they aren't available and I am terribly broke I guess we'll never know. Speculation is a solid 10 rwhp 10 rwtq.
Anyone wishing to donate, just send a couple bucks to LGM in my name. LOL, just kidding.

Yea LG does does some killer stuff from what I have read. Let us know your impressions of the build when you get it back. I love his track car Sounds like now what you need to do now is cultivate a relationship with with a tire store owner Maybe keep a few spare rears in the garage lol.I am gonna prolly just go 383 when this motor gives up(if the block is ok) but cannot honestly imagine your power level Enjoy it and be safe man

I don't know why your setup on a stroker couldn't come close. Your cam isn't tooo far off from mine, I don't like those heads though. However the fact you are a stalled a4 your dyno numbers will suffer, but you'll kill me at the track.

"diesel-engine terrain with the V12 power plant manufactured for the R10 completely from aluminium. The enormous torque of over 1100 Newton metres not only makes extreme demands of the R10 transmission system – as even the Formula 1 specification engine dynamometers at Audi Sport had to be reequipped with special gearboxes capable of withstanding the unusual forces."
Linky
1 Newton Meter = 0.7376 foot pounds
so 1100NM ~ 811.36 foot lbs of torque
and Audi has just anounced a NEWER improved r15 and new diesel race engine
Linky Again
"Highly efficient TDI engine
The heart of the R15 TDI is a newly developed V10 TDI engine producing more than 600 hp, with a maximum torque output in excess of 1,050 Newton meters and which reflects the latest version of the TDI Technology invented by Audi. The power unit is more compact and lighter than the 12-cylinder engine used in the preceding R10 TDI model. The specific fuel consumption and associated CO2 emissions could also be reduced. Innovations in the turbo-charging and fuel injection areas simultaneously ensure improved engine response. The R15 TDI is also equipped with a new generation of even lighter diesel particle filters. " 600+ hp and 777+ ft lbs
and I will take as much torque under 4000 rpms as I can get and afford. Afford is the key word here too.

This is turning out to be a LEGENDARY thread !!
I think the best answer to hp vs tq, is BOTH !! Why settle for one vs the other when you can have both ? If hp and tq are products of one another, I choose to have a bunch of each one. That way torque is available at the lower rpms and as the rpms come up and torque begins to fade, then HP is coming on strong and building upwards. So take your time, think out your combo, and balance the hp/tq equation.
I got very lucky and did just that. JMHO
