Would you rather have torque or horsepower?
Slap a poll onto this thread and make people vote thats the easiest way. In my opinion each one compliments each other you need both. Try to find some stuff that will raise both. If money is not an issue you want to have almost as much torque as hp

Well, you can go to extremes and either is useless. Like a big turbo deisel. It makes 800ft/lbs of torque but 350hp. It runs out of steam by 2500 rpm.
Or you could have a honda s2000 motor that makes 100ft/lbs of torque and 250hp, but peak hp comes at like 9600rpm.
Also, sometimes too much low end torque is useless on the street. Case in point is some of the dyno's that I've seen of Kenne Belled corvettes that made 800ft/lbs of torque at 2000-4500rpm. The instant hit of torque is just too brutal to be able to hook up.
I think a progressive torque peak, like you get from a supercharger is a happy medium. Good torque, no turbo lag, and a big hp number.

don't you have to know what you will be doing with it first? if you a sprint cup driver, you spend 95% of the race is the 9,300 rpm range, so torque is not as important. on the other hand, if you are in a tractor pull, horsepower and torque both come into play. if you are towing your boat, you obviously won't be winding upstairs to get the power needed. thats my 2 cents.
