Default a better view of my cracked piston

i was getting some loud detonation several hours prior to this happening. i guess it's my own fault. but hey. now i have a 6.0.

Was this from #7 cylinder by any chance?

this brings back bad memories of when killed 3 pistons in my old formula.... not fun at all!

Good insurance,

On any of the Gen 3 V-8's is to fit the pre 2001 LS1 steam tubes. As the left rear of the engine (5 & 7 cylinders) run hotter because of the coolant flow.

This thread talks about it but only fior the LS6 PCV conversion. The importance of retaining the steam tubes isn't mentioned.......

Here's what happened with my #7 piston (which cracked the engine block).

My stock pistons done the samething, back in the day. Go forged and be done with it.
