I was aware of it. A guy at a promiminent head p/p company told me not waste my money on a new set of rockers and if I really had $$ burning through my pocket to have HS do this to them. Guess I will have to rethink doing it now. subscribed

I haven't seen them as of yet. I'll have to prod the valvetrain guy to get them to me.

Very sorry to hear of your troubles! It is awesome that all parties involved are so willing to help out! How old is the set on your car?

Default Harland Sharp stock rockers upgrade

Are these still an issue? I was looking to get these done to my stockers. If it is I guess I will go the Yella Terra route.

Probably, but he's not from this neck of the woods.

My motor should be up and running very soon. I am going to use the HS that use the newer style bearings and trunion. I will be monitering them closely and give updates.

Holy ****! I just checked mine and they are DESTROYED! You're lucky... your bearings are just worn. Mine cracked and disintegrated! So far I've pulled apart 11 rockers, and both bearings on each rocker are broken! Pics shortly!

Mike those are without a doubt the older style caged "INA" bearing that HS no longer uses. In fact if you look close in the first pic you can see the letter N from "INA" on the small piece in the middle. Give Randy at HS a call these guys are unreal when it comes to standing behind their products. I will take a picture of the new style bearing tomorrow to show you the difference. There is no inner cage and the rollers are much bigger and spread the load better.

Damn! I was going to go the shaft route untill I saw this, I think I'll be saving up for the SLP stock 1.8's they come with the bearing upgrade.

Their new rockers should be fine, they are the new bearing design. No more INA bearings!

I just installed a set of these last week but I had them for about 8 months before I installed them.

I wish I would have noticed this thread before I put these in, I don't know if I have those INA bearings or not.

It is worth it to pull one to find out. All you need is some snap ring pliers, and gently remove the snap ring from the side. There is a washer underneath that, remove the washer and you will see the side of the bearing. It will say "INA" on it very clearly if it is an INA bearing. Given that its been on the car a week I wouldn't worry about it, you can still drive the car, but I would get something to replace them as soon as you can.

Darn, I just finally got my car all together and it's running good. I guess I'll have to do it sooner or later. How long was it before your bearings failed ?

After reading this thread, I'm starting to not have confidence in this product. I might just buy a new set of stock rockers if they're not to expensive.

I still have the old stockers but upgraded to these Harland reworked rockers for durablilty.

Anything within the last year, chances are you are fine. But still check them. My bearings probably failed awhile ago, these rockers had close to 10K on them. Comp makes replacement trunions for your stock rockers if you are really worried about it.

Yes I better check them. Sorry you had bearing failure but thanks for sharing that information. Just did a search on Google regarding those Comp replacement trunions, they are about $90.00 plus shipping... that's pretty fair.

If I have the INA bearings, I'll go with the Comp replacement trunions or see about sending my current Harland upgrades for exchange.

I'm figuring you got your Harland upgrades exchanged allready.
