Called this morning at 8am they said "Yeah we had some faulty bearings. Send them in right away and we will fix them all for you." so I went straight to the post office and mailed them out. Hopefully I get them back soon.

Harland Sharp customer service is the best I have ever dealt with. They got my rockers on Wednesday. Rebuilt all of them and had it shipped out by Thursday. Got them on Monday and they are all brand new and they even gave me new bolts. If anyone is thinking of buying rockers I would definitely go with them because they stand tall behind their products.

sorry to bring this back from the dead....I just found out my rockers have the same problem and as always, Randy Sr at Harland said to send them over so he can fix them right away...
I think that is where the ticking was coming from....I was blaming the high lift springs and Cam.....hopefully this will solve the issue.
I have to say HS rockers customer service has been the best I have ever dealt with....
thanks

Wow, I just found this thread...I just installed stock rockers with the HS turion upgrade that I bought 2 1/2 years ago. After the install my motor now sounds like a sewing machine, my motor was silent before. I guess I should pull them, or at least one rocker to check for the INA bearings.

Here are my 5 year old Harlands with the older bearings. I already replaced them with the Comp kit.

I think I am glad I found this thread. The ticking noise you guys are speaking of, is it constant or intermittent? I'm also going to assume that it will tick faster and slower with engine RPM? The set I have is somewhere between 1-2 years old and I actually just put them on maybe 6000mi. ago. Going to pull them tonight and start checking.

Update:

Well without a doubt I have the INA bearings (bought in 2007) and the one I pulled was in fact hurt. So I guess I'll be making a call tomorrow, at least I now know the source as it was driving me crazy.

I initially had the Harland Sharp upgrades with the old style bearings for about 1000 miles. I put about 6K miles on mine with the upgraded bearings before I sold the car. After I read about the old style bearings I bought the Comp Cam trunion/bearing upgrade to replace the old style bearing.

Sorry I can't give a long term report about the later style bearings.
I can at least say the 6K miles I put on the later trunion upgrade were very hard miles. I went from Pasadena California to Beaumont, Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth Texas last June 2010. Temperatures were in the upper 90s and triple digits with sustainjed runs and stop and go traffic.

I haven't heard or read about any long term reports on the newer style bearing but I would be interested in knowing how they hold up.

Someday when I change the valves springs on my Vette I will also get the Harland Sharp upgrade with the newer bearing. The Comp trunion upgrade kit doesn't come equipped with retaining washers like the HS upgrade.

If they aren't giving you grief right now, I would sell the car as-is. Just make the new owner aware that 'some' of the HS rockers w/ those bearings have been known to fail. If they become an issue, HS will rebuild them for free and get the new owner back on the road.

If you are in the mood to go through that process, pull them all and send them in. Otherwise move on.
