i just picked up a motor recently off this guy, and the valve springs and cam have fresh markings of blue or green paint on them... he said the springs and cam are aftermarket.... i didnt tear down the motor because it is a fresh motor and you an tell by looking at the bottom end. but what does the color mean?? does anybody know what type of stuff it is or?? i tried to search this but i didnt find anything.. please help im just trying to figure out what parts are in the motor without taking it apart... so hopefully somebody on here can help me, thanks.. matt

Ive seen blue and green stripes on stock springs many times.

Ive seen blue stripes on a few aftermarket beehives as well.

 

i dont know if all of them look like this but these are GMPP ls6 springs. 2002+, not 2001.
