Default ls1 cu inch punch out question

what is the biggest cubes i can get out of an ls1 safely ? can i go 396? i want to stroke my ls1 safely , so does anyone have any experiance with stroked ls1 s whats the most common cubes ,very curious about 383 and 396

Well, not that this is advance tech, but for those who want to still use a LS1 based block has bored the sleeves out and put in bigger ones and have easily done 427 cid. Maybe more. But there are more affordible alternatives as well. Check out the Gen III and Gen IV internal sections, that should help you better.

i have seen a 454 ls1 motor. and to do that you will need to re sleeve the block and i have seen to many disasters to go that route. if you want something with that many cubes go with an lsx motor or a bored and stroked ls2.

471 ci, but if you wanna put a lot of miles on it do a 434. I'm thinking about this in my car for turbo power without the weight. I'm rear engined so the extra weight is magnified like a pendulum through the corners.

382 c.i. 3.9" bore x 4" crank or 383 with a slight cylinder hone.
