3k in engine???
edit: just read the post realizing around 2k just for heads, so make it 4K total
The majority of the parts are coming from TSP.

I would have bought all the damn parts by now if the bank wouldn't take their time with giving me some $$$$

347 cid
Stock 3.6" crank - nodular iron
Manley Sportsman rods - 6.100"
Wiseco flat top pistons - 3.903" bore
Price: $2995.00**
**block & crank exchange or $1000 core charge.
Here's a break out of what I spent:
- Iron 6.0L block - $450 (no machining - stock 4" bore)
- Stock 5.7L crank (new) - $350
- Eagle H-Beam rods with ARP bolts - ~$500
- Forged pistons w/rings - $700
- Balance rotating assembly - variable, but t was $120 for me
- Bearings (all) - ~$250
So you can see parts alone can run over $2k. I could have bored the iron block .030 over for a 370cid, but saved the cash and got a good deal on 4-inch bore pistons. I ended up with a 6.0L motor (364cid) capable of 200-250hp shots of the gas. If it were built with lower compression, then it would handle 15 psi with no problem.
So the MTI 346 deal is pretty good, and you don't get dirty

You can get SDPC ported ls6 heads, a cam, oil pump, timing chain, hardned pushrods for that dough and have some left over.... SDPC------>
Do it right the first time. Forged rods/pistons, then do the H/C of choice. Remeber, you pay for what you get.
MTI 347 cid Aluminum shortblock- 2995 (plus core or $1000)
One weighs more, but the otherhas .3l of displacement over the other.
any other downfall to the iron block? let's say..Rev-wise?
is there any problem with the iron shortblock using stock aluminum heads? (better yet ls6 heads lol)
