Ok, so as I go to accelerate everytime, my car will rev really high in first before it catches second. Trany? Or you think its something else..

maybe you need to change your shift points of your tranny. two ways, buy yourself a hand held editor or go to a shop.

Trans. Check the fluid level and make sure its clean.

Sounds like its time for a rebuild, unfortunately.

 

is the tranny grabbing or does it feel low on power? Im not a tranny expert but if its just delaying going to next gear it could be like a bad/sticking solenoid or something? The car should hit the rev limiter before it revs to high i would think.

 

im going with a worn tranny does it do it when you do 1 into 2 or just in drive? and when it grabs is it a rough grab into 2nd? id change fluid and filter and go from there

 

trans is more than likely on its way out

 

It doesnt go hard into second, just sorta transitions in, but it revs for a few seconds before it slips in, like a delay..

 

like you a six speed car when you rev the motor then dump the clutch?? or like slipping the clutch on a six speed car?

 

Like my catalytic converter went out and it was only breathing on one side.. Its fixed now. Thanks guys!!!

 

Hmmm... clogged cat was causing engine performance to die which caused PCM to incorrectly lookup/calculate transmission pressure settings... cool.
