Default head cam package.

i have a 02 ram air t/a m6 and im lookin for the most power still being a weekend driver. money is not a object. i was lookin at the afr 205 heads and didnt know which would be the most power cam. i have a moser 9 with 4.10s. pacesetter headers, 3in Y, catback, 160 thermo. diablo tuner. also should i go with the fast intake throttle body combo? and if so then which size? i also plan on spraying a 125 shot in the near future. thanks for anyhelp from anyone.

Wait...a weekend driver? Well...if you're going to keep it a weekend driver, then I'd say get something with a little more aggressiveness, as far as cams go. I'd say go with Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft "Split Pattern" - 230/236 .592/.602 112 LSA or go with TSP 233/239 on LSA 112. I think you'd be happy with either cam. And those AFR heads would definitely compliment either of these cams.

Both these cams perform great. However, they are not necessarily radical, which would be good for your weekend driving. Hope this gets you started with an idea.

im older and more conservative. just my 2 cents but if this is a street car not a drag strip warrior check out a 224/228 dur 570 lift with a 114 lsa. that should have good street manors with a stick. call our sponsors for better opinions. just tell them how high your comfortable revving, and whether you daily drive this or you'd like to race it. heads, my opinion is ls6 stage 1 for a street car, stage 2 for strip. just my 2 cents from a budget minded conservative 40 something guy. cheers!

I agred with DANOz28 go with a 114lsa there are many cams out there to chose from but is youre going to spary go with something like 232/236/ 575./578. 114+4lsa. thats what i have on my ride. but have not spary i was told by my tuner when i spray i should hit about 500hp with 125shot.

you have the money go with ET performance heads with a good nitrous cam good luck

if money is no object then i would call a shop and have one spec'd out for your specific apllication to match your heads and intake. You will get a hundred opinions on here but they are just that... opinions. Me? I would go BIG on the cam but thats just my preference. Others here are telling you to go with smaller cams... again that is THIER preference. Call a shop and have one specd for you.

Speed Inc.
THunder Racing.
Vengeance Racing.

Just a few examples.

Pm Patric G, He can also spec you out an awesome cam. I have read about some great results with his combo's. I do believe he charges for cam profiles though.

on a heads cam car it is def worth it.

i picked up 18hp and 12ftlbs of torque on my cam only setup...same day/same dyno...

i DID home port it, but thats not hard

and YES you'd want a 90 or 92mm unit.

i def suggest you contact someone like PredatorZ or Patrick G and talk to them about a good nitrous cam. while many off the shelf cams would be great for the build, there is alot to be gained for having a cam specifically spec'd to your goals.

Check out my sig...... I still use it for a dd but it has good power and good drivability. Just a set up to look at to give yourself some options. I would go with a fast 90/90 or 92/92 for sure if your going to have a big cam and high flowing heads just when you start going that route make sure your injectors can handle it

There's tons of choices in aftermarket cylinder heads now. For aftermarket cylinder head options we offer the PRC 215 cylinder head. With a altered valve angle & smaller chambers from the factory you'll get a good compression bump without any worries about killing your piston to valve clearance. If you'd like to checkout some of our engine dyno test sheets give us a call. We've dyno tested tons of different cylinder heads on stock cube applications.

Great heads: TFS 215's and AFR 205's. As for cams you should definitely PM Patrick G...he specs out a cam based on your entire setup (heads, intake, exhaust, your personal goals, driveability concerns, etc.) for only $25. You also get that $25 off of your custom cam so you're only paying $400 for the custom grind. He has several combos on here that make great power. You definitely want to go with FAST 92/92 intake and throttle body setup to make the most out of any heads/cam combo.
