You have to find out the base circle of the camshaft first.

Order and adjustable pushrod and measure. Otherwise it will be best guess but the adjustable saves buying another pushrod set like some end up doing.

We need to give Vettenuts a custom title called "Pushrod ****"

Dude is all over these pushrod questions. Its good to see at least some people are interested in getting their geometry correct

Since you're not interested in measuring, I say run a 7.425" pushrod because you're cam has a smaller base cirlce and longer pushrods are quieter.

You need to measure, end of story. Anything else is a guess.

Why do people want to be spoon fed everything? What happened to doing it yourself to make sure its as correct as possible? Stop "ttt"ing, you have the best answer possible and have been told it more than once.

you can buy a set of pushrods from 6.5 to 8.0 and try each set .....but a checker would be much cheaper. =; )

Get in your car, drive to someone with a pushrod checker, allow them to measure, and then ask them.

If you were a diabetic, would you ask people how much insulin to take based off telling them what you ate for dinner?

People are giving you the right answer, you're just not interested in hearing it.

I say 7.9" pushrod checkers are just ridiculous guessing is superior here.

You need to check this with a push rod checker, i'm not repling to this to sound like i'm repeating what everyone else has already told you. I'm telling you this because everyone that has replied is right. Even if you were to guess, the info you gave about your set up is not nearly enough. You need to know the base circle of the cam, head milled?, headgasket, etc. Using a pushrod checker is not hard. I'm sure you could find tons of info on this site about it. There might even be a sticky but i don't know for sure. Ya, with certain set ups that have been repeated many times you could see what one guy ran for pushrods and, if you had the same set up, you probobly would be ok using the same ones. There are always variables in building an engine, that is why everyone here is telling you to check it youself. I'm building an engine right now that requires .050" shorter pushrods than what I would have thought based on the parts I used in my build. The checker doesn't lie.

been there done this before, you need to measure..even motors with similar parts will vary a little bit..
if your going to put a bunch of money in your motor, why not spend just a little more and get a pushrod checker and do it yourself to get exactly what you want..cheap insurance, and it's easy to do..
