I spoke with TFS, they said the valves are moved, so longer PR's are needed, and even with the powdered metal guides, they still need to have the roller rockers, the new guides are to improve their service life on the street, not to be able to run stock rockers

Will these flow better than ported 243's with stock valves?

best question would be will these make more power then the ls6 heads. That all depends on who ports the ls6 heads also.

What is even more frequently forgotten is how rare it is for a stock rocker to fail. Much less common than an aftermarket rocker arm. Stop spreading n00b myths.

Agreed. I will continue taking my chances with stock rockers.

Now it's been moved to 05/15/09. Huhm, hope these don't go the way of the Street Warrior.

Did anyone else notice this:

$1,995.95

Quantity: Sold individually.

Someone tell me that's a typo because unless they're guaranteeing 700 rwhp they can keep their $4,000 heads.

Ok, guys, playing around with pianoprodigy's VE calculator, I get the following numbers with the cam in my sig and stock thickness gasket (.052).

Are these numbers safe on 91 octane at 4000+ feet elevation?

Static Compression Ratio 11.58 :1
Dynamic Compresion Ratio 8.77 :1

It is now 5/22. I'm really thinking about getting these.
Lets hope they aren't packaging them with the SW

Maybe a site sponsor knows something?

It also says this right under the sold individually part

Cylinder Heads, GenX (TM) Street/Strip CNC, Aluminum, Assembled,58cc Chamber,205cc Intake Runner,Chevy,LS,Pair
Really doubt it's $2000 for one head. But hey.....at least the ship date is within the month....not a promise of "summer, no wait...fall, no wait...not until next spring, etc."

It's not as rare as you think, especially on early LS motors. Early rockers, say 97-2000 (at least) it happened often enough to be a concern. I put some later style rockers, from a 2003 Tahoe, and they look much sturdier and better designed. Since the upgraded rockers came out, it is indeed pretty rare, but that may not even apply to Fbods at all. It DOES happen so don't be surprised if your higher lift cam stresses your rockers to failure or chews up valve guides sooner than you'd like.

Do these come with dual valve springs? If not can they be upgraded?
