new TFS 205 heads
anybody spot these in the new Summit catalog?
they list them for the 4.8/5.3/5.7L engines, max bore of 3.890 or something like that.
would be sweet to have that on a ls1 street motor....should make really good low and mid range.
price isn't bad either....$1900 i think
then again summit has had the Bigfoot Intake...sorry the Street Warrior...for sale for months...and it still hasn't seen the light of day.

they probably are the "as cast" version....personally i dont see a reason to use a 205 on a 346 when the 215's are perfect...you can control the power range from the cam one uses..

its just something to look into.
while i agree the 215s are great, you might get a bit more power down low if you did the smaller runner.
perticularly with a smaller cam.

I have the as cast version from Vengeance for 1600.00 with the mods in my SIG and am very impressed!
AFR205's for over 2000.00 will be passed up by me!
Here is food for thought.... https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...-castings.html

What I think people forget about is GM rockers do fail, and do have all the needle bearings fall out. Given with the cam profiles and valve train geometry, I can upgrade the rockers and get a kick *** head that virtually guarrentees 450 rwhp on a m6 car all day with a cam that is at least 22x/230+ Not bad.

this is a good head setup for DD guys and guys that are looking for decent power at a good price. Racers will still go with the 215's, hey i dont have a problem with more options. Plus these heads cost about the same as cnc'd LS6 heads.

I've spoken with trick flow in regards to these heads a couple weeks ago, TFS 205 heads are fully CNC'd they will work with factory rocker arms by using powdered metal valve guides, like stock heads. They also use your factory valves.
so you pull your heads off, swap valves and springs over. I'm looking forward to reciving a set so can check valve drop and spring pockets etc.
