LS1 "853" casting cylinder head, center bolt valve cover

If u add 1.8RR to this cam it now becomes a 226/236 555/555.This is not exactly small boys,it probably picks up 1 or 2 more degrees of duration too.....

I like the cam,it make TQ and has a good area under the curve...

That dyno graph has some substantial area under the curve. Fantastic.

Are those ported or unported 853 heads? If ported by who and what stage?

Was that an engine or chassis dyno?

Do you all pay attention to what your saying. The ASA is good for a low lift cam, thats easy on springs. But it should get 1.85 rockers. There goes your low lift

Yep, 1.85s would bring you up to .571.

The motor on the dyno run (I'm sure it was an engine dyno, as it's not in the car yet) is one of the "stock" ASA motors, built by Lingenfelter. Unless I'm mistaken, it's also legal for Grand Am racing, but it could be upgraded to LS6 head and intake specs.

I had the ASA cam on my 02 Z28 and I loved it. I had my suspension set up for road racing, and had a set of 315/30/18 tires out back that sucked for drag racing. I ran a 12.7 at 115.3 mph on a 2.28 60'. That was through stock manifolds and stock heads at Sacramento in 95 degree heat. I also had a whisper lid and loudmouth cat back. The car made great power. And the lope made it sound like an old school big block. I loved that cam.

In checking the dyno run was with the 12556333 stock LS1 (early) intake and stock, unported heads. Yikes.
