Help me fool my friendly local GM tech - which cam is stealth enough?

Cannibal, are you absolutly the car in question has a Stealth II cam on a 116 LSA? I can't imagine for the life of me why it would need to be idled that high and I certainly can't understand how it could have any lope at all to it at that RPM with this cam. The only difference I might see is that I have Stage II LS6 heads but I doubt that should really matter.

It's my car he is talking about, It Had STealth II on the end of the cam. I specifically ordered the Stealth 2 version, but its really not stealthy at all. Levi will get a clip up shortly.

I would have guessed that's a C2, not an SS2.

This doesn't idle stealth, at ALL, as you can tell by the clips. What should my brother, Alex, do?
Here's the part on the box. #: 55099 Stealth-II 116 LUN 224/221 .576/.581
Could Lunati have put the wrong cam in the box.

They could have. I don't think MTI does any engraving. Mine wasn't engraved, for what it's worth.
My cam is supposed to be 224/220 .581/.581 116 LSA. After reading this thread, I reprogrammed mine to idle at 575. With the cuttout open and at 575 RPM, it still sounds NOTHING like that supposed SS2 cam. It has just a gentle rumble at 575. Still VERY tame to say the least. I'm quite sure my cam will idle at 500 with no problem. I gotta get you folks some sound clips. I bet some of you are thinking "He's exagerating how tame sounding that cam is." But I'm not.

Let Jayson hear that soundclip too. Something doesn't seem right to me. Is the idle tuning stock? All of my idle tuning is 100% STOCK. Even my VE table is stock. I didn't have to change ****.

The cam I have is an LS6 on steroids - 207/220 .571/.578 118.5 - and it is on the shelf over at Lingenfelter. I picked up 60 rwhp with this cam, ARE heads, and mac mids. Car went from 303 to 362 rwhp (I use a really stingy dyno over here). So if you are reading on your favorite dynojet, you could go from 330 to 390 or so.
I know, it's not a huge gain, but the car is a blast to drive and is a total sleeper. Plus the car sounds completely, and I mean completely, stock. I originally bought the cam because it was a good blower cam, but since selling the blower, I have still been having fun with it as is.
