Default New LS6 lifters hold @ 600 lift?

I bought a set along with all my other LS6 parts when I was planning a Ls6 rebuild. I've since sold most of my Ls6 stuff but kept my lifters. The cam specs are below.

Its not a racer and may do a head swap in next year for L92s. So its not like they will blow up quick...right? They are new.

I'll put about 10k on them.

Tons of people run over .600" lift on stock lifters. How are the LS6 different than any other stock lifter?

I seem to be finding more lifter failures lately.

I agree "stock lifter" but they came from a CTS-v. I don't know if there is a part# difference.

I'd just rather ask then not. Thx

On the LS1 Initial testing, before the new LS6 lifters were developed, showed a definite valvetrain stability problem above 7000-rpm’s. Several remedies were tried, but in the end it was determined that the lifter had the biggest contribution to the RPM limit. The new LS6 lifter had changes made to the components which resulted in a significant RPM increase. After installing the new lifters, the LS6 engines were now making power at 7000-rpm and they regularly saw 7500-rpm’s without any problems! Now if you get the new CTS V lifters you can go to 8500 rpms all day and night and have no issues at all. But they are pricey. They are completely revamped from the ground up inside and out. Great for a high reeving engine.

Pricey as compared to what? I thought that my LS7's were only like $200.

I've seen stock lifters "turn" in the bores with over 600 lift. I got the "longer" morels and solved the problem. My .02
