Take the car out after its fully warmed up. Start at a speed of about 40mph and gradually go WOT all the way to about 100mph, nothing crazy. Then when you reach 100mph come off the pedal smoothly to idle. If you don't see any smoke at all from that run, its most likely the valve seal(s).
Then start at about 60mph. Smack the throttle to the floor hard and quick. If you get the cloud of smoke, its your valve seal(s).
It doesn't take much oil at all to make that cloud.
The reason it smokes when you hit the throttle hard and fast to the floor is because the sudden drop in pressure sucks oil through the bad valve seal(s) from under the valve cover. When you accelerate gradually you don't get that sudden drop, so it won't pull oil through the bad valve seals. I had this years ago and had the same symptoms as you, I had the heads rebuilt and it didn't smoke anymore at all. And their were like 7 bad valve seals in my heads, the guides wouldn't even stay in, they just fell out while on the work bench.
If you leave a trail of smoke no matter how you accelerate, you may have a ring problem. You'll need to do a leakdown check.

So i am not worried about it. I always make sure my car has enough oil
