PTV clearence help
I have some 241 heads milled to 59cc and a 232/237 613/613 on a 112lsa, i was wondering if im gonna have ptv problems on a stock ls1 rotating assembly im also using stock gm head gaskets. Thanks Greg
I'd say that is a pretty sure bet for your pistons to high five your intake valve. I run tsp stage 1 ls6 heads milled to 59cc on a 228/232 cam 113+4 and it is close. Those heads have the valves set back in them i believe.
You need to actually measure PTV and I would bet you are in trouble. I have TFS 215's milled to 60cc with a 232/236 .595/.578 113+3 cam and I had 0.040 clearance on intake valve at 11 *ATDC with GM MLS gasket. Many would have just run that setup but we decided to check...good thing! Ended up flycutting my pistons 0.090 on intake so I could run a Cometic .040 gasket to gain compression lost from flycutting and better quench.

why not just run that setup with MLS gm gaskets and flycutt for both valves??either that or clay it. either way i would check. ur college budget my fly right out the window when it needs a new motor. either that or go with a smaller cam
