Here is what I have in mind for mods guys. I already have LG LT headers along with vararam and short throw. I was planning on ordering an MS4 cam, with prc's and pushrods, along with borla stingers, and a nitrous kit (150). Is there anything else you guys would recommend on me getting, I got around another 2k to play with after I buy these parts. Thanks

I should've added that this will be a semi daily driven car. I will take it to the track about once a month if that so I really dont want to put in a 4.10 gear, especially for the price that comes with it. Most of my "fun" comes from, the highway at 60mph and up and the occassional dig run. So I'm not looking for a track car, just a street monster.

not trying to change your plans but i wanted to do a cam and nitrous and i looked into the MS4 and then after more research the MS3 would be better for spray if u still want a bigger cam........just my .02 cents and btw sweet *** vette man.

Don't rule out the Torquer 3 camshaft, it will do very well in the car & typically works better in most combos. The MS4 definately likes gear & stall in auto cars. I'd checkout the Torquer 3 camshaft & the PRC EHT valve spring. It's a huge upgrade over just about every spring on the market & will have a very long life even at the larger lifts like the MS4 & Torquer 3 use.
We have a heads cam combo that's under your budget that I think would do very well, give us a call or shoot me a pm if we can help in any way.

Well Im pretty set on running nitrous, I could probably do without the stingers since they are 1k. Like I said, this is primarily a street car, but with a lot of *****. I'm a little unsure about the heads, I was looking at Texas-speed and those AFR head and cam package looked nice, but so did the 5.3l heads, bump up CR for the nitrous, what do you think?

I say port and polish your stock 243's and mill them for higher CR. The 243's have a much better design than the 5.3's. And since you don't seem to be too budget minded I'd go with a good clutch, a x pipe and a free flowing cat back exhaust. Also I'd at least look into a lower gear such as a 3.73 4.10's would be ideal, but you said you didn't want them. I'd personally go with a MS3 cam and the p&p and milled 243 heads prc dual valve springs and pushrods. An adjustable timing chain also. Maybe a fast 92/92 combo to top it off? With that set up you'd make 450+ to the wheels all day long and will leave you with plenty room to grow with that choice of heads for your n2o now or someday later.

And don't forget about the custom cams that are out there.

afr or trick flow heads are the way to go! people port stock heads from a
lack of funds! borla stingers are a waist of money! GO RIGHT FOR THE KILL
BIG CAM, BIG FUEL, EXCELLENT HEADS. with the right setup you can make 500 to the tire with a stock bottem end 346ci engine!

The tsunami cam is probably one of the only cams I would buy from their line of cams. And the LS6 (243) heads with the right port work will out perform the AFR's etc. And GOOD port work isn't cheap so I wouldn't say it's done out of a lack of funds.

Keeping the 243 heads in his case wouldn't be due to lack of funds its common sense. Why buy stage 3 243 heads when you already have 243 heads! Get them ported by a reputable porter and you will have your own set of stage 3's. Its all about how much $$$ your willing to dish out when it comes to having head work done.
