Like title says I'm wondering what is the maximum amount that a stock LS1 block can be bored out?

 

3.908 (347ci) is about the biggest you can hone a ls1 with out resleaving, witch is not worth the $$$. You can stroke the ls1 to gain some ci.

 

well see i have a LS1 block and cylinder 7 is slightly out of round but it can be corrected by a .010 over bore i just needed to know if I had room to bore it out that much

 

Nope, sorry man, but if you need .010 you don't have enough without resleeving.

 

I am pretty sure a 99 up bock can go a max of.010..........

 

How much does it cost to re sleeve these blocks? I would think it would be more cost effective to re sleeve with the bore you want rather than buying a 408 or 414 ls2?

 

IIRC, it's cheaper to buy a new block and swap everything over.

 

You can do .010" over. Thats what my old car's motor was. 3.908" pistons from Mahle. You CAN go .010" over. That motor had over 11,000 miles on it whenI sold it. Made 491 rwhp 442 lbft corrected on a dynojet N/A and I played on the streets with a hundred shot...never had any problems.

 

Mine is a 3.9 bore with a 4 inch stroke. 382 cubic inches. That's the max I would go unless you can a longer stroke.
