Default Just want to verify this:

Coolant in the oil can only come from 3 places: (assuming you didnt pour it in the oil fill hole)

Cracked block
Cracked head
Blown headgasket

I bet you'll never guess why I'm asking

You are correct. Sorry you have to ask this question. Also if you have forced induction you can lift the heads with too much boost and get coolant in the oil that way.

I wish I had a chance to see boost with this motor. Brand new, idle time only, never got to spin the TC78.

Wow that's crazy. Might as well have o-ringed them with spaghetti noodles lol. I'm using 6.0 MLS headgaskets for my 317s.

Question: This is my first new motor, should the oil be pretty dirty the first time you change it? Like moderately dirty? I'm not sure if I'm seeing milkyness or just new motor break-in stuff.

Or if you have an integral oil cooler in your radiator. LT1 B-bodies have this problem a lot when the fittings crack in the tank.

How long have you run the engine since you assembled it? Was the block deck checked by a machine shop. The GM MLS gaskets are a very good gasket, and alot more forgiving then cometic's MLS.
