Default head gasket?

Whats a good head gasket to use when installing a new set of heads.... Maybe a thinner gasket to bump up the compression a wee bit???

A thinner gasket can be good, it just depends on the application. List all the details of your setup so we can make a good recommendation.

i went with cometics. i think they're some of the best and some say reusable .... have a lot of different thicknesses also. also no cleaning if you take them off like the stock graphite mess.

I use GM MLS, but my heads are milled to 59cc..You can get them pretty cheap. I Think i paid $36 for a set shipped to my door.

If you aren't having the block resurfaced then GM MLS is more forgiving to imperfections. The cometics require a flat surface and specify an RMS range for the machined deck finish. Most people use them without issue, but a few have had sealing problems. With your cam you really don't need a large bump in compression to achieve optimum results, so I say mill the heads to 59cc and run the GM MLS.
