carnage pics! hey guys, here is the inside of my stock bottom end 107k LS1. Heads/cam car with a 7100 rev limiter. out of a 01 trans am. Rod bolt let go and it went from there:

This happened to a friend of mine a while back. Think of it as an excuse to build a nice new forged bottom end. Is the block salvageable?
Did you put some good rod bolts in it or were they stockers too?
I'm running a stock bottom end and I've got the limiter set to 7K. It's usefull to have that over rev for the circuit.
I bought a set of ARP bolts to go in in before the track days start again (It's winter here)

stock rod bolts, it seen 7000 on a regular basis. Too regular apparently. The block is cracked on both sides, so its junk. I was able to save the heads/cam/lifters/pushrods, bascially the entire top end of the motor. Sold it all tonight for 1350. Thats going to help fund the 408 build :-)
