This happened to a friend of mine a while back. Think of it as an excuse to build a nice new forged bottom end. Is the block salvageable?

Did you put some good rod bolts in it or were they stockers too?

I'm running a stock bottom end and I've got the limiter set to 7K. It's usefull to have that over rev for the circuit.

I bought a set of ARP bolts to go in in before the track days start again (It's winter here)

Cheers

Michael

stock rod bolts, it seen 7000 on a regular basis. Too regular apparently. The block is cracked on both sides, so its junk. I was able to save the heads/cam/lifters/pushrods, bascially the entire top end of the motor. Sold it all tonight for 1350. Thats going to help fund the 408 build :-)

I would pig out on ice cream and cry myself to sleep if that happened to me

And then wake up the next morning and start planning my 408 build

pretty typical when you are spinning it at 7K... It would of been fine if you left it at 6800 rpm with the limter set. Time to go big boy...
