Timing chain and gears
At what mileage should an ls motors timing chain be replaced.
And whats a good replacement chain.I might be ready for one,car has over 50 thousand miles on it.
Just looking to keep it safe.

Gears will last forever.
At 50K, you're chain is likely still o.k.
When the time comes, LS2 chain has thicker links, is a direct fit on the stock gears, and can be had from SDPC for $40.

Well, if you are going to the swap the timing chain out you may as well put in a cam
. It will be right there and you have done almost all the work to get to it. Scoggin Dickey has a good selection of those as well.
