LS1 engines for 97 and 98 will tolerate only about a .005-in. overbore which really amounts to just a clean-up hone. In 1999, the sleeves will be revised such that service overbore of .015-.020 is possible without compromising durability.

What kinda hp gain would a 0.15 bore have on a stockish LS1?

First off, I think you're referring to a .015 bore over.

The kinda money you'd have to put into it, it's not even worth it IMHO. When you change the bore diameter of your cylinders, you have to change the pistons. Pistons aren't cheap. If you were going to get the block resleeved and do a .060 over and go with a 382 all bore, then you'd be ok. You'd be replacing the pistons either way and you'd be making the expenditure worthwhile, you'd get some mad horsepower from that.

Sorry for the book, but to make a long story short its totally not worth the money. If you're going to bore out the motor at all, but not resleeve it, go with a .010 over clean up and replace the pistons with forged components, and throw a stroker kit in there.

Thats just my opinion man, everyone has their own. Hope this helped ya a little.
