ac shuts off at 100% throttle no matter what rpm and at a set engine rpm (4294rpm in my stock tune) if the throttle is not wot. so basically like has been said a few times ac wouldnt cause it but it seemed everyone thought ac only shut off at a certain rpm only and wanted to help clear that up...

sounds like a freak thing has it ever done it before under any conditions? go try to go 180 and report back how things go... lol

Why would you drive that fast with your mother-in law in the car? Poor lady. Shame on you!

Keep that quiet........... its going to be your fault when the govenment mandates GM cars cannot exceed 75mph, and puts that speed limiter on everything.

i cant believe its not the rev limiter or fuel shut off at 162mph. why dont you take your car to a dyno? you can max it out and watch the engine cut off. without risking your life. in minny if your caught driving over 100mph your finnished!

I think the problem is PCM and MAF related, I don't know for sure but it seems to me like even if the MAF was clean at that speed it could have been forcing in more air than it could meter, or potentially have caused the resister to cool in the maf temporarily due to prolonged exposure to that much air flow, although I would think it would have set a check engine light.

Keep in mind duty cycles in stock PCM's are not made to handle prolonged high RPM high speed runs like that, chances are the PCM wigged out due to "over stimulation" and poor readings from sensors.
