Great info I want to do a cam swap on a 114k car, and yes the cam bearings would be a concern at that mileage. I say Replace em
Edit: this will be my first LS1 car Ive been an LT1 guy for years. Keep us posted on your progress!

what ever you do i would not under cam it or stall it... do some research before you make that decision because my dad on his car was worried about street ability and after his car was done he was disappointed in it... he realized it wasn’t what he wanted and he could have gone allot bigger without loosing the street ability he wanted.... but that just my two cents…

cam bearings are extremely forgiving. I think thats one of the last things to be concerned with. Make sure the mains and rods are getting lubed and you're fine. Do a compression and cylinder leak test to make sure your still gettin good squeeze.

To change cam bearings you will have to pull the engine and tear it down then take it to a machine shop and they will install the cam bearings...they are the least of your worries...still feel like changing them .... if your going to change the cam bearings go ahead and rebuild the whole motor since you will have the whole thing apart .... I got 190,000+ miles on mine and they are still good...I have seen many LS series engines with many more miles on them than mine with no problems with cam bearings...your rod and mains take a lot more punishment than the cam bearings....just do your cam swap and rock on till you blow it up...that is the natural progression in the life of a modded engine..
