anybody seen different valve stem heights?
Ok so i have a set set of ported 243 heads with 2.055" valves in them that I decided to put on this last weekend. I did the push rod lenght checking procedure on #1 and #2 cyclinders only, length came out to be 7.29x" so I went with 7.350" for a PR. After putting everything together and starting it up everything seemed to be fine untill tonight when I took it for a drive, after taking it to 6500 a couple times I could hear valvetrain noise getting a little to loud for comfort. Went back home and pulled the covers off and started checking everything. Well come to find out on #8 cyl. the intake valve sits roughly .040" lower than the exhaust and #6 intake sits .030" lower than its exhaust. Has anybody experienced a problem like this? should I just get some new PR's and stick them in those two holes or do the heads need to be pulled and the seats be redone?

Just to be clear, the cylinders #1 & #2 measurements for intake and exhaust were basically the same at 7.290" and now you are finding #6 and #8 are different.
Sounds like whoever did the heads sunk the valve to different heights. You could fix it with individual pushrods but it questions the head work that was done. You may need to measure all of them if they are that inconsistent.

Yes thats what I am seeing. Thinking about just getting some longer ones but I also noticed that some of the spring are not perfectly straight they have a slight bow to them?

Wow that's a huge difference. Your best bet might be to just take those off & buy something setup correctly. If your actually that far off you dont have many options on fixing them. You can buy a lot of good cylinder head combos for reasonable money. Let me know if we can help in any way!

Its kind of hard to tell in the pic but the spring to the left has a slight bow to it.
This is the valve all the way open and you can see it bowing pretty bad in my eyes.
Im not sure if this is alright or not.... what do you think?

No thats not alright. You have some sort of issues with the seats. Not sure If you can get your money back or have the person responsible for the work repair it correctly. I'm wondering if some one tried to do It old school manually with a stone and not properly set up on a machine.
