Default Is this a good deal?

A guy I work with wants to trade me ported and polished ls6 heads and a port fast 90 and 1100 for my stock heads and stock intake. He is having the heads sent in to check for anything wrong. So is it a good deal or any good counter offers? Thanks for the help in advance.

do you mean you are giving the 1100 or is he?

Make sure the fast intake bottom is not cracked, as there are no replacements for them now, and make sure you get all the bolts that it comes with, and the gaskets.

What ls6 heads, who worked on them.

you can pick up used ls6 heads for around 700-1000 that are ported by a reputable company- not just joe schmo.

fast 90's can be had for 600 or so now.

So the question now is what heads do you have, and what intake? if you are pre 01 then its not a bad deal, if you are a 01-02 then I wouldn't do it. as you can sell the 241 heads, and the ls6 intake for a combined 400-500 bucks.

I would give him 1100. And i have a 99, so i have 241 heads and the ls1 intake. I work with the guy so ill see if i cant get more info on the heads and took a look at them.

That doesnt sound like a good deal to me. I would give him maybe $400 and your stock ****, but not $1100.

I think it might be an okay deal if you were just buying it outright and not giving him your intake/heads depending on who ported it.

The saying "if its too good to be true it is..." should ring a bell.

If he is sending the heads to get checked then you should also. Tell him that you want to send them to a reputable place you'll spit the cost and if they are good then hey its a great deal but right now it seems very skeptical to me.

Experience and advice is free don't take either one and it gets expensive quick.

I would walk away from it. It really isn't all that great of a deal. and who knows whats up with the heads. make sure the fast isn't cracked. even a small little crack will have problems down the road.
