Default Cam ?

I dont know that much about cams. I want to get one for my 99 WS.6 so far i have intake and exhaust on the car. I want to keep the stock heads and i want some of the loping sound and a power gain. Anyone that could recomend one for my needs would be greatly appreciated.

I have the B1 on an m6 car, it doesn't lope at all. Try either the MTI T1, GMPP Hot Cam, or TR 224 112. All are very reliable and highly recommended.

112 and 114 are the Lobe Separation angles. Generally if a cam has the exact same specs except the LSA are different like the MTI T1, B1 or the TR 224 112, 114. The cam with the lower LSA (112) will make peak HP at a lower RPM, The cam with the higher LSA (114) will peak at Higher RPM. Both Making about the same HP just at different RPM's. The higher LSA (114) will also make power a bit sooner in the 1000 to 2000 RPM range, but that is unmeasurable on a dyno. The Higher LSA (114) will idle a bit smoother, while the lower LSA (112) will lope harder.

Also, try doing a search there are many posts regarding this topic. It will be hopeful when you are serious about a cam purchase.

with the 112...will you have to worry about any surging? Or does that happen with any cam?

Also with any cam swap...your gonna have to switch springs and other stuff right?

tr224 112 or 114 your choice. you'll need spring i went with 918's and titanium retainers. awesome idle and great power.you'll probably need some tuning as well. good luck with what ever you choose.

If you get the TR224 it would be in you best intrest to go with a set of gears too for the best results. If your not up for a gear change, got with the TR220 or the MTI C1. Then its all gona come down to how high you wana take to engine to get the power (shift points) and so on.

hahahahahaha so funny I forgot to laugh

I guess I deserve that for not clarifying my question. I was just wondering HP gains or what not.

Oh well...Cal...your sooooo nice.

Oh that's what you meant! I don't know the answer to that, but not a lot I'm sure. Duration makes a bigger difference than lift. Also, it depends on how good your heads are. I've heard it explained like opening a water valve: intially you get a lot more flow but as the valve gets open wider and wider you get diminishing returns. The .563 is already pretty big so you need good flowing heads to benefit from more lift.
