how big of a job is replacing pushrods? what does it involve doing? i think i might have bent one from a missed shift.....would a bent push rod cause power loss?
It would definately cause a powerloss ... most of the time you will hear a slight ticking sound, and it might even set a code.
As far as replacing them, it is fairly easy and straightforward....
-Order a new set of pushrods from wherever (stock pushrods are 7.400")
-Take off the coil packs (10mm deep-socket) and other random **** that is on top of your valve covers.
-Take off the valve covers (a couple bolts around the outside, 8 or 10mm)
-take off the rockerarms (8 mm I believe)
-pull pushrods out ... put new ones in
-you can also check to see if you did bend one by doing this ...
first just look at it ... usually you will see some scrapes and other odd markings that look like they don't belong there
second, take the pushrod and roll it on a flat surface ... a piece of glass or glass table work the best since the pushrod will make an obvious noise if it is bent. Any flat surface will work tho ... just see if it wobbles. (kind of like checking to see if a pool cue is straight)
-after you drop the new pushrods in put your rocker arms back on, put your valve covers back on, and strap those coil packs and whatever else you took off back on there.

Yeah ... there's actually a good write-up you can use to take them off/put them on ... just disregard the part about the springs and cam, etc.

and nothing wtih the lifters? i think? lol i havent done any valve train work, but dont worry i am mechanicly inclined so im not doin this having no idea what to do lol
there is no need to change your lifters or springs.
Your lifters just ride on your cam ... and your springs keep your valves closed.
Pushrods are pretty simple and straightforward ... and shouldn't give you much of a problem.
