Rocker Arm Questions....

Hey guys, I have to replace my stock rocker arms. Does anyone know if comp cams 1.85 ratio roller rockers will replace the stock rockers without any problem with valve clearance? The car has a stock cam, and all stock internals. Thanks.....

Ok why are you replacing the stock arms for? What else are you doing. Are you going to change the PR's and lifters also. Are stock ones cracked, does the car need them, are you getting a new cam/heads? just a few answers that would help. Usually the 1.85 will fit in fine, but I am running a H/C package and I am stock rockers arms they are fine.

Heard a noise coming from drivers side top end, dropped the oil and found needle bearings on the drainplug. Removed the valve cover and found the rocker the bearings came from. So I figure if I'm going to replace them I'd like to upgrade them. Wasnt planning on doing the pr's, lifters, or springs if I don't have to yet. Kind of on a budget this month....

Send them off to Harland Sharp for a rebuild and you will have no worries. Then if you cam they will work with aggresivive cam lobes that 1.85's wont....

I have the Comp 1.85 rockers. It comes as a kit with guide plates and studs. You will need hardened pushrods 7.400. They are nice because now you have adjustment and can really quite things down plus they give you more lift. You will run into cam problems with an aggressive cam though should you change. I am putting in a 224/228 cam but it is made for 1.85 rockers so I am still trucking with them. They won't give up the ghost like the stockers either!

Oh... You will also have to remove the baffle on the driver's side VC to fit them.

I used the crane 1.8 gold rr it brings total valve lift to .030. but you have to use their or a custom cam of .551 lift. The 1.7 or 1.7 rr are sturdy valve train.
