first off how cheap. If 400 or under pick them up as it will give you about 20 hp over what you are making now.

Use you stock rocker arms, and only need to replace springs if you are putting in a cam.

No. Bad idea. You should tell me where that deal is and I'll buy them so you don't have to worry about it.

Seriously, some more info is needed if you want a serious answer.

Ive seen many times the stock rocker arms on cars with over 500RWHP.

Aftermarket roller rockers dont give these motors the HP like say a gen 1 SBC/BBC so the stockers are fine.

I picked up a brand new set of 243's for $550 SHIPPED. They were also triangle castings which are said to be good for 6-8 hp more. Be patient and keep looking they're are always up for sale.

Use stock rockers. Ive read bad things about aftermarket rockers.

And yes upgrade valve springs.

We will be engine dyno testing bolting LS6 heads on next to cnc ported LS6 stage 1 & 2.5 PRC heads this week. I expect to see 12hp-15hp from the LS6 heads & a additional 30hp or so from cnc porting the LS6 heads.

$550 for used LS6 heads 15hp
$1024 for new PRC CNC Ported LS6 heads milled to customers specs 40hp+

for that kind of price difference it's hard to waste all the labor on a stock set of LS6 heads. If your going to do the labor do it right the first time IMHO!!

I gained 27rwhp/20rwtq with true stock LS6 heads, SPM triangle castings, and GM MLS head gaskets. I'd love if a CNC LS6 head gained 30rw over that, and I bought a second set to find out if they will. I doubt it, but if they do I'll be ecstatic. Also, anything under $550 is a good price considering just the lightweight valves for ONE head go for ~$180 new. Good luck,

Larry

the triangles indicate the type of casting method used by the manufacturer. 2 of the 3 plants used a better process which yeilded more power and as a result of this process the triangles are left in the casting.

Jasan, cant wait to see the dyno results! what size cam will u be using?
