Im going to go back 4.10's when i switch to 9in. or 12bolt, it shouldent be too much gear for the highway since i put a 6speed in my car.
For you guys playing with your gears, i have a question for you since i am a stock gears fellow. I am not sure of the gears my GTO coomes with, i think it is a 3.42 . Now some of you guys went and swapped things back and forth, cause there is really no "cover all the bases" gear set. kick *** on the street may suck *** on highway and vice-versa.

What about Gear vendors type of add-on over-drive systems? Are those not an option? Go with a small gear like a 4:11 on the rear, but add on a gear vendors unit with 2 extra overdrive gears for the highway. Do they not make units like this for our transmissions and engines?

its not bad on the interstate, i just have a thing for getting passed up on the days i take it to work, out here 80 is 70 to everyone, but the car cruises 70 @ 2k no issues.....i just decided i wanted the most i could out of the gears & i spend more time on the streets than interstate
